In Nwoya District, Uganda, the GO Fund supports a climate-resilient demonstration farm with Lutino Adunu, a grassroots leader in Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs). The farm acts as a learning hub, equipping women with tools to grow food, generate income, and build community resilience.
Located in Northern Uganda, the Pangora Demonstration Farm is run in partnership with Lutino Adunu, a trusted community organization with deep experience in women-led VSLAs. The farm supports food production training alongside financial literacy and savings group development, offering a practical, holistic approach to poverty alleviation.
With GO Fund support, including the purchase of a motorcycle to expand outreach, the farm hosts hands-on agricultural trainings twice a month for local VSLA members. Participants learn sustainable farming, pig husbandry, and climate-resilient techniques while strengthening savings practices and business planning in their village groups. By combining these tools, the project empowers women to lead, feed their families, and lift entire communities toward stability.
The Demonstration Farm has also been selected as a site for agricultural research and innovation. In partnership with World Coffee Research, the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO), and the National Coffee Research Institute, the farm now hosts a coffee demonstration garden to train farmers and compare grafted and non-grafted coffee varieties. The project also produces coffee seedlings for local farmers, further expanding the farm’s role as a regional learning hub.
