The GO Girl Center is a safe haven and skills hub for girls in Kilgoris, Kenya, who are escaping early marriage, FGM, and gender-based violence. The center offers shelter, counseling, and vocational training through the Sew for Sisterhood program, helping girls build confidence and long-term independence.
The GO Girl Center, based in Kilgoris, Kenya, is a protection and empowerment center that provides girls facing early marriage, FGM, and gender-based violence with shelter, skills, and support. Operated by long-time partner Dupoto Flourish Africa, the center offers short-term housing for five at-risk girls.
All girls at the GO Girl Center participate in the Sew for Sisterhood program, learning sewing, beadwork, and entrepreneurship. In addition to vocational training, girls receive psychosocial support, mentorship, and life skills education. The program is designed not only to meet immediate safety needs but to build pathways to economic independence and leadership within the community.
